I started as a developer on WebSphere Commerce in 2009 and have spent every year since inside transactional commerce — catalogs, pricing, search, checkout, integrations and the infrastructure underneath them.
Most recently I was Senior Solution Architect and Technology Head for the Bengaluru office at Metyis, where I owned client architecture for global fashion brands while running the location's technology function: hiring, engineering standards, learning & development and delivery.
My sweet spot is the platform that went live and then started hurting — high error rates, slow pages, a ticket queue nobody can close. I stabilise it, make it observable, cut what it costs to run, and then get it shipping features again.
Rescuing a global fashion group's B2B commerce platform
A headless B2B platform for PVH brands (Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein) went live with serious performance and reliability problems. My team took full ownership and turned it around.
PVH B2B — headless HCL Commerce on AWS
Took over from the incumbent systems integrator in Dec 2020; ran architecture, delivery and operations for five years.
What I did
- Introduced layered caching — GraphQL layer and HCL Commerce API layer — while keeping inventory, tax and shipping live.
- Replaced a file-and-FTP catalog/price feed with an event-driven AWS pipeline (SNS → Lambda → PostgreSQL → SQS → Fargate).
- Designed division-level B2B search entitlement across Bloomreach and Commerce search.
- Rewrote a failing business-critical assortment module into modular, cacheable task commands.
How it ran
- Kubernetes on AWS EKS, GitHub pipelines, Terraform provisioning, Ansible automation.
- Observability with Grafana & Prometheus alongside Dynatrace and ELK.
- Built a 32-person team from zero: Commerce, React/GraphQL, QA automation, DevOps and DBA.
- Stabilised first, then shipped new features; support shifted to user requests only — no bugs.
